He further urged all real estate agents in the city to “come together and work hard for the community.”

A series of wildfires broke out in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood and surrounding Los Angeles area on Tuesday, January 7, causing massive damage. At the time of publication, 11 people had died in the fires that had burned more than 37,000 acres of land. Additionally, more than 12,000 structures were reportedly destroyed and tens of thousands of residents were forced to flee their homes under mandatory or voluntary evacuation orders.
As wildfires continue to ravage the Los Angeles area, many victims are beginning to think about their next steps. Jason, for his part, lamented the real estate difficulties that followed he faced him on Friday January 10.
“I searched the MLS [directory] I’m trying to help families displaced by the fires find properties to rent,” he said in an Instagram Story video. “I notice dozens of examples of people trying to do things like this, where they can’t get $9,500, even $9,000, and then yesterday they raise the rent by over 30 percent at $12,000.”
While Jason emphasized that he “is all for free market capitalism,” he claimed that right now it is “blatantly profiting” from the natural disaster. Stause, 43, agreed with her boss, whom she dated in 2021.
“This is disgusting,” Stause wrote via her Instagram Stories. “Other real estate agents who have a moral compass, let’s report that to the board.”
