Barack Obama and president-elect Donald Trump. Michelle Obama was not at her husband’s side, but he seemed to accept Trump’s presence.

Michelle aside, Associated Press reports that every living former president and their spouse was present at Jimmy Carter’s funeral. Barack and Donald sat in the front pews of the Washington National Cathedral, behind President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and their wives.

Who else was friendly at the funeral?
Despite the viral photos and videos, AP said former Democratic President Bill Clinton and his Republican successor, George W. Bush, also spoke cordially to Trump. Additionally, the president-elect also shook hands with his former vice president, Mike Pence. You may recall that Pence was a staunch ally until he refused to join Trump’s effort to remain president after losing the 2020 election to Biden.
While Barack Obama, Bill and George seemed to have a cordial energy for Donald, Governor Gavin Newsom has recently given back a bit to Trump. The day before Carter’s funeral, the president-elect took to Truth Social to blame Newsom for the wildfires currently raging in California. In return, Gavin and his communications director accused Trump of playing politics during a deadly crisis.
