Lisa Vanderpump confirms the decision to reboot ‘Vanderpump Rules’ wasn’t hers!

Lisa Vanderpump finally tackles the major problem Vanderpump Rules reboot that shocked Bravo fans last week. After it was announced that all the actors except Lisa herself, would not return for season 12, the 64-year-old reality star and executive producer shared her thoughts on the show’s new direction.

Speaking at the grand opening of her Las Vegas restaurant, Pinky’s by Vanderpump, Lisa reflected on her farewell to beloved actors while teasing what she’s looking for in the next generation of SURverses.

“It felt like we told this story,” Lisa said. Access Hollywood. “I mean, it’s been 12 years, 11 seasons, so I think it was time to go back to basics. The premise of the show was all about the restaurant industry, and then it took off.

Although she acknowledged how iconic the original cast had become, Lisa admitted it was time for a fresh start. “I cannot minimize – and I do not want to – the importance of the quality and openness of this casting. I love them all, but it was time to call it a day,” she shared. “It was all of us, lots of talking. And of course, I’m sad.

When asked what she hoped to see in the new Vanderpump Rules programming, Lisa emphasized authenticity and real-life dynamics.

“I look for authenticity. I think that’s the first thing we look for,” she explained. “People who can truly be themselves, because nothing is as interesting as when people are honest about their lives. I look for good relationships, which always happens, whether positive or negative.

According to Lisathe restaurant industry naturally breeds drama. “When you’re in the restaurant business, it’s a core that brings everyone together — and that’s where things get complicated,” she added.

In the meantime, Vanderpump Rules Executive producer Andy Cohen also weighed in on the reboot, hinting at new twists and surprises for fans. One original cast member even revealed that they left the show right after the explosive season 11 reunion.
