Horner was initially accused of inappropriate behavior After allegations were brought against him In a February 2024 report of the Dutch media from Telegraaf. The specific details were not made public and Horner denied allegations.
“I obviously deny the allegations that were made against me fully,” he told CNN at the time before he was officially authorized following a colleague’s investigation.
A document in charge of sexually suggestive text screenshot has finally disclosed. The messages – allegedly from Horner – were directed to an unnamed woman. A month later, Red Bull said he was “confident that the investigation” on Horner’s alleged behavior was “fair, rigorous and impartial”. They noted that “the complainant had a right of appeal” to the decision.
“The independent survey on allegations formulated against Mr. Horner is over, and Red Bull can confirm that the grievance has been rejected,” Red Bull Racing said in a statement in March 2024.
ESPN reported the same month as the employee who accused Horner of inappropriate behavior had been suspended at Red Bull Racing due to the survey results.
Horner said he could not comment on “anything confidential between an employee and a company” at a press conference. He also publicly declared that he did not plan to resign as team director. (After a successful driving career, Horner retired from the race in 1999 and took his job at F1 at the age of 25, which made him the youngest director of the team at the time.)
“I am fully committed. I built this team. I convinced people to come to work here,” he told Sky News.
Horner also noted that his wife, Halliwell, 52, was “very favorable” after the allegations. The couple began to go out together after meeting at a racing event in 2009. After several years together, Horner and Halliwell made the knot in 2015. They share their Montague, 7, and the two have children – Bluebell, 17, and Olivia, 10 years old – previous relations.
