This article contains spoilers For “F1”.
Whenever “F1” obtains the camera inside the cars, it is clear that the film was made by people who really like sport. The race sequences are made with an incredible level of technical skills – something possible through What looks like a difficult shoot. Most of this action is channeled through the series of original characters in the film and the APXGP fictitious team, but there are a ton of cameos of real runners, team members and other figures attached to sport too.
Most of them are moments of flashing and not missing during shopping or moments just before or after. But some real formula 1 figures have real lines. In some ways, the film seems more targeted to fans of The series “Formula 1: Drive to Survive de Netflix” That dedicated followers of real sport, so many faces that you will recognize throughout are people who have presented in evidence or become fans in this program.
From Lewis Hamilton to Gunther Steiner, here are all the big cameras of Formula 1 in “F1” that you may have missed, as well as some of the interior jokes they bring with them.
Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton
The two most famous pilots of the F1 grid both are well in the film, with a series of quick glamor shots dispersed through the different stages of the day of the race. Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton can also be the kind of “boss” pilot in a race, with the big moment of Verstappen to come in the middle of the film at the Italian Grand Prix and Hamilton serving as a final boss for the climate race of the film Abu Dhabi.
In Monza, Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris) almost won a race victory against Verstappen but Careens uncontrollable in the last second during a passing attempt. This is mainly played for a dramatic effect for the main characters, but there is something funny in the inherent involvement: trying to pass Max Verstappen? Good luck, because you can find yourself in the wall.
Hamilton, on the other hand, who consulted the film and obtained a producer credit for his contributions, ended up losing his big moment in Abu Dhabi when he and Pearce withdraw, allowing Sunny Hayes (Brad Pitt) to win the race.
Some other interesting details include the similarities between Hamilton’s real history and Pearce’s fiction (black British pilots in a white predominance sport) and the number of podium finishes and Race Verstappen arrives The film “F1” (very precise, this part). There is also something to be soft to see Hamilton in his old Mercedes kit after his move (less than successful so far) in Ferrari to start the 2025 season.
Martin Brundle and David Croft
Most of the lines of any Formula 1 figure in the real world in “F1” belong to Martin Brundle and David Croft, the famous duo of commentators who calls each of the fictitious breeds of the film. Apparently, Hamilton played a key role in the meeting the comment of the so authentic film.
“If it was not for Lewis, I would not be in the film,” said Croft during an interview on the red carpet during the film’s first. “He sat down with [producer] Jerry Bruckheimer and [director] Joseph Kosinski said, “Listen, if you want to make him authentic in terms of comments, do not make an actor, get a big and Martin to do it, because they are the voice.” “”
It was clearly the right call. If you have already watched a real “F1” race or an episode of “Drive to Survive”, you will feel at home with the comment.
Gunther Steiner and Toto Wolff
In addition to the drivers themselves, a number of team directors appear throughout “F1”. In addition, two fans favor special attention – Gunther Steiner, director of the Haas F1 team, and Toto Wolff, director of the Mercedes team.
Steiner acquired a significant renown after being presented in a good place in the first season of “Drive to Survive”. His character without frills, hard but kindly makes him popular with viewers, and he brings a little of the franchise for which he is known in the real world in the film. At first, Sunny adopted an overly aggressive style from the rear of the peloton to force safety cars and help his teammate acquire a track position. This is considered to be quite bad about Steiner, who showed several times by giving the evil eye to the crew of the APXGP during and after the race.
Wulff is undoubtedly a smaller personality of the Fandom F1, but has a profile in particular because of the immense success that Mercedes obtained during his time as a team director. At the very end of the film “F1”, he has a brief speech scene where he congratulated JP for his performance in Abu Dhabi and clues, there could be a future for him one day in Mercedes. This is one of the most embellished moments in the film, for sure, but it should be noted that the APXGP team uses the Mercedes power unit for their car.
Frédéric Vasseur and Zak Brown
Two other team leaders who appear in the film “F1” are Zak Brown by McLaren and Frédéric Vasseur de Ferrari. The two appear in the same scene, speaking in a group television interview where they provide good taste speeches to the APXGP team of spraying.
Other directors and team leaders have smaller roles, notably James Vowles of Williams, Lawrence Stroll of Aston Martin and the director of the Formula 1 group Stefano Domenicini.
Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz
Although it is not presented as well as Hamilton or Verstappen, some of the other F1 drivers get a more notable screen time than their peers. More specifically, Charles Leclerc de Ferrari appears several times, winning several podiums throughout the film and appearing in at least a battle for the first places. Ferrari has long been an extremely popular team in sport, and as a gifted runner sporting the emblematic red livery, Leclerc has become the young superstars of Formula 1 (although his 2025 season, like that of his teammate Hamilton, has not completely reached the expected peaks of Ferrari).
Lando Norris of McLaren also has more than a few glamorous shots and at least a star podium in the film “F1”. Norris is currently organizing an out -of -competition season in a dominant car for McLaren, after recently won the prestigious Monaco Grand Prix.
Ferrari de Leclerc’s teammate Carlos Sainz (who is now driving for Williams, after being replaced by Hamilton for the 2025 season) can also be seen a few times, and his car has prominent moments of action in the film’s race scenes. But the best time involving Sainz does not really present it on the screen. Later in the film, in a club, Pearce is approached by a young woman who asks if he is a driver. When he says yes, thinking that she flirts, she asks: “Can you introduce me Carlos Sainz?” Formula 1 followers know the popularity of the beautiful Spanish driver among some fans … and as one of these subscribers, I must say that this joke really worked for me.
The rest of the F1 grid and other automotive sports cameras
Not all F1 pilots are in good place in the film, but they are all credited with Camées. Drivers like Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon have a few moments of battle with the main characters, just like Kevin Magnusson – a driver known for an aggressive style which is referenced during a little fight with Sunny. The veteran runner and double champion Fernando Alonso even congratulates Sunny for his return to another scene.
Meanwhile, the famous advertiser of Automobiles Leigh Difffey can be heard the 24 hours of the Daytona sequence, and you will probably catch some other figures in the industry and the media that we missed during your watch. It’s nice to see so many people who make motorsport, and Formula 1 in particular, so great being represented in the film. Although some racing details are absolutely embellished for a dramatic effect, if it is not excluded, the film constantly pays homage to the real ones.
“F1” now plays in theaters.
