During a conversation with You Magazine by Daily mailSiwa was frank on her evolving journey with the identity and the complex emotions that she experienced after the public exit.

The former star of “Dance Moms” shared: “When I went out at 17, I said:” I am a pansexual, because I don’t care [about gender]. But then I sort of locked myself and I said, “I am a lesbian.” And I think I did it because of the pressure. “”

She revealed that the pressure did not necessarily come from society as a whole, but from an unexpected place.
