This article contains spoilers For “final destination: lines”.
You never forget the first time you see it: a truck that seems to be huge, barely adapted to a single track on a lively highway. Its payload, a large number of thick, heavy and freshly cut logs, is precariously found on its tray, barely held in place by only three chains, which, compared to powerful logs, seem precariously fragile. This is the kind of vehicle that you would not be too enthusiastic about driving in the best circumstances, because not only would it cut your visibility, but it would force you to evoke images of your worst fears, if one of these logs fell from the truck. In the film “Final Destination 2”, all these fears are realized, while a premonition of death by one of the characters is represented, the newspapers begin to submit to the truck, and the result is One of the most impressive and terrifying road disasters ever filmed.

Since the release of “Final Destination 2” in January 2003, generations of people have been very suspicious of forest trucks and for a good reason. The film, directed by David R. Ellis, was so effective in representing the type of accident that each motorist made nightmares on this subject, which has made vehicles feel like a bad omen. I lived once in the first hand, forced to travel kilometers on a highway in a single lane behind a log truck, and my level of anxiety was through the roof all the time. As much influence as the log truck sequence had on real life, it had an equal weight on the series of “Final Destination” films. With each later episode, the films of the “final destination” have found new ingenious and often ridiculous ways to allow the death to visit its condemned characters through a series of Rube Goldbergian circumstances. However, despite a certain number of vaillé and effective efforts, nothing has really exceeded the factor of fear of this fucking truck.

For the last series of the series, “Final destination: Bloodlines,” The filmmakers finally seem to recognize the sustainable power of the deadly log truck. Even if the truck only claimed 15 years in “Final Destination 2”, the number of people it has frightened of their minds is countless, hence its status as a biggest horror film of the century. As such, “Bloodlines” makes sure to bring this icon back to a series of surprise cameos, which will certainly hang you on your first watch, and a couple that you cannot.
“Bloodlines” has a quasi-collision with the dead log truck
The main camée of the Killer log truck in “Final Destination: Bloodlines” occurs at the end of the second act of the film, when Stefani (Kaitlyn Santa Juana), his brother Charlie (Teo Brones), and their mother Darlene (Rya Kihlstedt) leave a hospital. At this stage, family unity is well aware that death is after them, because it tries to follow a trace of cosmic course correction which had been encouraged by the grandmother of Stefani and Charlie, Iris (Gabrielle Rose / Brec Basinger), who had a mad premonition which helped her save his own life as well as dozens. Having recently witnessed the impressive power that death has on the creation of circumstances that guarantee the disappearance of those that it is after, the trio makes a plan to go to the home of the Iris decades, a place where the woman had the death of her capacities, all of death.

As they start getting out of the hospital, the family is distracted for a moment and almost collides with traffic coming in the opposite direction just outside the entrance to the hospital. Fortunately, Our protagonists survive this particular brush with deathThe tight call reminding them that death will just arrive when they are not prepared for this. The vehicle they almost driven is none other than our boyfriend with a log truck, the air larger and worse than ever.
It is possible that it is exactly the same truck in logs of “Final Destination 2”, even if we have no concrete evidence of this. After all, there would have been more time between this film and it so that the original truck was repaired and put back in service. And don’t forget: the log truck was only one of the two killers in the road accident sequence of “Final Destination 2”, the other killer truck being a car carrier, who also made a murder after Kimberly (AJ Cook) had its premonition. Thus, as we can see in “FD 2” itself, while the log truck did the majority of the damage of the killers in the premonition, it was deprived of at least eight people who had been promised. It may mean that death is not finished with the vehicle, and our villain always has a thirst for blood.

The Easter eggs of the log truck in the “lines”
This theory, according to which the log truck is the same log truck of “FD 2” returns to take revenge, was born by the other Easter eggs concerning the truck in “Bloodlines”. His first appearance in the film is actually a sketch in Iris’ great research book on death. He is full of reference material, which Iris has compiled with the help of his lifelong friend, William Bludworth (Tony Todd), which has been considered the closest thing to an authority over death for the entire series. Obviously, the appearance of the truck in the Iris notes indicates that it has a particular meaning for death. This also implies that perhaps the premonition of Kimberly avoiding the stacking of the car planned originally left him a threat still active for those who are targeted by death.

The proof of all this can reside in the last deliciously brutal moments of the film. During their fateful confrontation with death in Iris’ cabin, Stefani seemed to die briefly before being relaunched by Charlie, making the brothers and sisters believe that death would now jump because of Stefani undergoing a technical disappearance. However, after one of her neighboring doctors explained that Stefani could not have been rekindled if she had been dead, the two realized that they were duplicated by thinking that they had escaped, and it is too late: a train derailed on the tracks next to their neighborhood and addresses them. Just as it seems that they have exceeded the crash train, the momentum of the accident dislodges freshly cut logs, sending them to death and crush Stefani and Charlie.

Although it is not explicit that it is the same newspapers as the log truck transported, it is quite possible and the connection would be fully appropriate for the “final destination”. He calls not only to the meaning of the nasty humor of death, showing his victims the method of their disappearance, to which they ignore, but he also closes the loop started by “Final Destination 2” every year before. Although it may seem sure to come back to the highways now, I care about this, because there is simply no way to be sure that death has no other plans for this nasty log truck.
“Final Destination Bloodlines” is now playing in theaters around the world.
