The Canceled British Horror Series That Was So Controversial The BBC Allegedly Erased It






THE Horror Genre has produced many big television shows Over the years, with many dating back to the first days of television. Even now, fans of Fraye Excellent episodes of “The Twilight Zone” and consult the Less known horror anthology series Rod Serling Subsequently – to name only a few examples of the classics which are easily available for your visualization anxiety. Unfortunately, some old shows are lost in the fogs of time – similar to the spirits that haunt people in their stories – and will never see daylight again. This brings us to “Horror Tardif Night”, a series of obscure British anthology from the 1960s which would have been purged to be too controversial.

As documented by Dark atlas“Late Night Horror” hit the air in 1968, producing six episodes in total. Similar to “The Twilight Zone”, the series is an anthology whose episodes are removed from stories by known gender writers, notably Richard Matheson, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Roald Dahl. The series was also remarkable to be one of the first BBC programs to broadcast in color, which makes the bleeding even more shocking.

“Late Night Horror” received repeated broadcasts in 1970 and was apparently erased from history thereafter. The rumors say that the BBC destroyed the images after viewers complained about its violence and its disturbing subject … Although it is more likely that the series was poorly archived (like so many other media of this period). No matter why and how “the horror of the end of the night” has disappeared, fans can never experience it in all its glory – but an episode still exists if you are courageous enough to find it and succumb to its frightening charms.

The surviving episode of Horror Late Night depicts a Bloody Children’s Day

Everyone knows that children can sometimes be very cruel, and the episode of “Horror Late Night” “the corpse cannot play” proves that there is real in this feeling. The story, which has been written by the British author John Burke, focuses on a children’s party that goes wrong after Simon Potter (Michael Newport) – an unpopular child who is frequently teasing by his classmates – presents himself at the door without invitation. After being accepted in the party, Ronnie (Frank Barry) and his friends make fun of the young Simon of the death of his father, but they quickly learn that their actions have consequences.

What follows is that more than 20 minutes from Simon is tormented until the bloody peak of the episode arrives. Horrible events are not more horrible than the types of film studios like Hammer and Amicus produced in the United Kingdom at the time, but the children’s characters are always exposed to blood and dismembered organs, so there could be a certain truth to rumors on the angry show of viewers.

If you want to check this explosion from the past, you can take a DVD copy of the episode in its original color format. Alternatively, you can find a black and white version in certain internet corners. It’s just a shame that “the corpse cannot play” is probably the only episode that we will never see, because it would be interesting to discover how frightening and horrible the other payments are.
