The 1960s were a revolutionary decade of human history. Global conflicts and new ideas are spread over civilization. Pop culture responded in kind.
In the field of science fiction, television would become even more influential than ever. The decade would instill some of the most emblematic figures of the genre, as well as shows that continue to leave their impact to date.

The crew of the USS Freakin Robot giant started the archives and set up television shows from the 1960s which are worth watching.
And if you look at this channel and you cannot guess what we are starting, you could be as smart as the “Spock Brain”. The episode, not Spock’s real brain.
Star Trek: the original series

Star Trek: The original series was designed by creator Gene Roddenberry as “Wagon Train to the Stars”, a western riff on interstellar exploration.
The premise includes a diversified team of characters, including everyone’s favorite ultra-logics strangerIn search of strange new worlds, a new life and new civilizations.
These adventures would include President Abraham Lincoln, giant green hands, salt vampires and the strangest creature in the whole galaxy, a tiny Clint Howard.
For all its memorable special effects and beloved fictitious world, the most impressive thing about Star Trek is the crew report.
Look at kirk, SpockAnd McCoy is fighting on weekly moral dilemmas sufficient to make us think that a better future for humanity was really possible.
Disturbing tribes at the Klingons Cagey, it’s just to say that Star Trek is the most influential science fiction television series of the 1960s, and probably the biggest science fiction Game changer in television history.
Lost in space

And if Gilligan Island took place in space and replaced Mr. Howell with a speaking robot?
This is the general atmosphere of Lost in spaceA science fiction tour on the literary classic Swiss family RobinsonSame call the family in the Robinson show.
The Robinson family is lost in space after a failed attempt to colonize the stars.
After their ship is sabotaged by a villain who is stuck on board, this fearless family must leave their own solar system far behind them while they are trying to survive the many dangers of the unknown.
The stars of Lost in space Shining brighter than those that the crew is visiting, but the real highlight of this program is the performance of Guy Williams, the actor of Dr. Robinson who retired when this program was canceled.
But if there is one thing that everyone always remembers this classic series, it is a line of one of the most loved robots on television.
Doctor Who

Going even more than half a century later, this beloved series started all the way in 1963.
In Doctor WhoWe follow the misadventures of a lord of time and his companions while they explore both everywhere and in everything that is straightening the wrongs and introducing a little fantasy in a galaxy full of danger.
Unfortunately, our protagonist continues to run in the most ferocious enemies of the past, the present and the future. Unless he can stop them and humanity will be in history.
Regarding Doctor WhoThe many talented artists (we love you, Tom Baker!), The best thing about this show is its infinite potential for narration. Viewers never know when or where the next adventure will take them, making each arc feels like a fresh and original science fiction film.
Remember, children: if you don’t like the current doctor, a new one is still a few seasons!
Space Ghost

He launched the boom of superheroes of the 60s, transformed Hanna-Barbera into one of the most successful animation studios in history, and gave the world an emblematic superhero; Space Ghost must be one of the best science fiction shows of the 60s.
Armed with its advanced belt and power groups, Space Ghost patrols the galaxy, fighting evil alongside its adolescent acolytes, Jan and Jace, and their animal monkey, bleep.
Each episode actually gives you two adventures to wait.
The series is a ton of pleasure despite its simplicity, thanks to the brilliant and daring animation and our hero taking everything that is super seriously, no matter how awkward the bad guys.
It is so cheesy and serious that Cartoon Network managed to pay tribute to the classic adventures and to parody them at the same time with the simulated talk show, Space Ghost Coast to CoastBut if the original was not as endearing and loved, the parody would never have become a classic cult.
Fantastic journey

In 1966, Fantastic journey has become the best science fiction film of all time to explore the interior of the human body, but what most people have forgotten is that there was also a series of animation.
Released in 1968, the animation Fantastic journey used the miniaturization of the film to show scientists saving the world alienWizards and robots every Saturday morning.
In “The Mind of the Master”, the cartoon crew enters one of their colleagues who have fallen to perform surgery from the interior, and just like the film, there is a traitor among them.
Fantastic journey came from decades before other films, such as Robocop And Ambowere transformed into cartoons. In itself, it is a fun science fiction game that should not be forgotten today.
Ultraman

The largest science fiction franchise in Japan superheroes can only be the emblematic Ultraman, which made its debut in 1966 and played in countless films, shows, video games and manga since.
The original series focuses on the scientific patrol defending Kaiju Japan. Secretly, one of the members binds to a benevolent extraterrestrial to become the superman superhero.
Each episode takes place as the best parts of a classic Kaiju film, featuring some of the bad guys of the most inventive monsters in the history of science fiction, and everyone likes to watch fights of giant monsters.
Ultraman ’66 is so good, it has created a billion dollars loved around the world today, and it is above all a must for all those who want to see where Pacific Rim I have everything.
Jonny Quest

Fans of The Venture Bros. It owes to themselves to review Jonny QuestThe cartoon of the science fiction adventure which directly inspired the bizarre adult swimming series.
Channel energy from radio series and adventure comics of its time, Jonny Quest Follows his titular character and his scientific father, Dr. Benton Quest, on dangerous missions around the world while they fight mysterious creatures, crazy scientists and other threats to high issues.
Joining the action is their Bannon of Borough of Corporate always more resource, the mischievous dog of Jonny, Bandit, and his best friend and adoptive brother, Hadji Singh.
Known for its extremely imaginative bad guys, its revolutionary animation ideas and its status as a Bannon race as a certified badass, Jonny Quest falls under its strong characters and the conflicts they face.
Yes, there are many obsolete representations of different peoples and cultures, but the spirit of the spectacle even crosses today.
Jonny Quest is pure and episodic of the 60s sci-fi fun. Its rereading value is immense, which makes it a series whoever can constantly review.
Gigantor

Owning a giant robot that will obey each of your orders is the kind of impairment of childish wishes that will attract you directly to Gigantor If you want to feel faster than fast and stronger than hard.
An Americanized reshuffle of the Japanese series which preceded it, Gigantor Tells a simple story of a boy named Jimmy Sparks, who controls a giant robot originally designed for military applications, but has been reprogrammed to maintain peace.
Jimmy’s unshakable feeling of unwavering optimism is admirable and never seems to be telephoned. He is forbidden for his desire to stop global threats while fighting the bad guys who want to steal Gigantor and use it for their own harmful reasons.
There are no ulors of pattern in Gigantor And part of its charm is how it is before with its narration.
Admittedly, the fights of robots are clumsy and the English dubs often fall into synchronization, but in its heart, there is an epic story to tell on the old age of the forces of good and evil.
If you are looking for a simple but effective animation in all its classic monochrome glory, greater than life battle sequences and a hero trip that has no fat, Gigantor is the retro-futuristic cartoon on which you don’t want to sleep.
External limits

There is nothing wrong on your screen. Do not try to adjust the image. External limits Now controls the transmission and you are about to participate in a great adventure.
Often unjustly compared to the most fanciful The twilight zone,, External limits is not a show mainly concerning the fantastic and the supernatural.
Instead, each episode is a tenor of tense science fiction.
Take the concepts such as control of the mind, the improper use of technology and the consequences that follow, and a variety of monsters of the outdoor and interior space, External limits Focuses on the human condition and the way we attack the unknown of the best of our capacities with the resources we have.
Although the effects of the creature are impressive at the moment and certainly memorable, you will find yourself most fascinated by the philosophical questions that External limits increase.
Ethical dilemmas surrounding the exaggerated government and the application of artificial intelligence to paranoia which rightly follows, External limits does not inform its audience of its moral dilemmas. This forces them to sit uncomfortably with them long after the credit bearing.
As entertaining as it is difficult for the status quo, External limits Is it not a light vintage science fiction rate, but a surprising look at humanity as premonitory today as during its original exit.
Although his first season is more successful with his stories than his second second season, the entirety of External limits represents the most mature and complex science fiction narration throughout television from the 1960s.
Attend the fear and mystery for yourself.
Do you have some of your own favorite science fiction shows from the 1960s? Do you have your favorite episodes of the programs we mentioned? Mine would be “nightmare” of External limits.
