THE “Hellraiser” moviesWho come from the new “The Hellbound Heart” by Clive Barker, has inflicted legendary sufferings on their victims for almost 40 years. Meanwhile, the franchise has traveled from New York everywhere to medieval France to the very space. Whatever the location, however, one thing remains constant: The Hell Priest, Aka Pinhead and the Cenobites have such beautiful views to show any daring (or simply carefree) to invoke them using the Lamentation configuration (a box of puzzle with infernal powers).

In the film “Hellraiser” original of 1987, Frank Cotton (Sean Chapman) triggers the chain (literally, in this case) of events that strike his family in the hands of the Cenobites. However, all we learn about Frank is that he has acquired the Puzzle box, was punished, escaped from hell and rekindled an affair with her brother’s wife while she delivered blood sacrifices to restore him. The time between him finding the box and meeting the Cenobites is largely undocumented, but it would be an interesting story to tell.

It is undeniable that Frank is a medonist with a sinister side, but what did it in this way, and why did he find the demonic box in the first place? These questions would have been answered in a preposition / restart “Hellraiser” not produced with William Fichtner, perhaps better known for his outings in “The Dark Knight” and “Armageddon”, as a sad priest of hell.

The restart of “Hellraiser” in question would have been managed by director Patick Lussier and the writer Todd Farmer, the duo behind Cult Faves like “Drive Angry” and the remake “My Bloody Valentine”. During a conversation with the film Crypt (via “The Podcast Clive Barker”) In 2015, Lussier shared some details on their plan to transform “Hellraiser” into an adventure film full of action with an evil heart:

“The idea was essentially that we never see the story of Frank get the box. So imagine if Frank is actually the darkest version of Jack Bauer [from ’24’] and Nicolas Cage of “National Treasure”. It would be the history of the evil “national treasure”.

The director “Dracula 2000” added that a sequence would have seen Frank to have a killing tour in Shanghai, culminating by being maintained by certain enemies and making herself hammered in the head. However, it was during these moments that he acquired the puzzle box that leads him to invoke the Cenobites to tear his soul. Fichtner – who played a demon in “Drive Angry” – would have directed the Cenobite brigade, but Lussier and Farmer did not discuss their plans for the character in detail.

At the end, “Hellraiser” received a disappointing restart of 2022 With the kind authorization of David Bruckner. Who knows if the taking of Lussier and Farmer would have been better, but a film “Hellraiser” inspired by “National Treasure” and “24” seems quite interesting, don’t you think?
